Izhevsk woman gets 3.5 years for stabbing, theft
In Izhevsk, a court sentenced a local woman to 3 years and 6 months in prison for stabbing a sleeping drinking companion and stealing money from another man's bag.

The Pervomaysky District Court of Izhevsk found a resident of Udmurtia guilty of two criminal charges: intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm using an item as a weapon (paragraph «z» of Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and theft (Part 1 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The crime occurred on 24 February 2026 in the afternoon. The woman was under the influence of alcohol in an apartment in Izhevsk. After drinking alcohol with the victim, she waited for him to fall asleep. On a sudden impulse of hostility, she took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed the man once in the abdomen. The victim sustained a penetrating stab wound to the abdominal cavity, resulting in grievous bodily harm. Immediately after, ensuring no one was watching, the defendant secretly stole 3,700 rubles (approximately $41 at current rates) from another man«s bag who was also in the apartment. She then fled the scene.
The court sentenced the convicted woman to 3 years and 6 months in prison to be served in a general-regime correctional colony. The sentence has not yet entered into legal force.
