Several incidents in Tatarstan over the weekend ranged from a tragic infant death to a circus accident.

Sister Throws Infant Out of Window
In the village of Vasilyevo in Zelenodolsky District, Tatarstan, a 5-year-old girl threw her sister out of a window. The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan stated that the child was less than a month old.
The newborn died before the ambulance arrived. At the time of the tragedy, no adults were home. The mother had gone to a friend«s house, leaving the girls alone.
A criminal case has been initiated for abandonment in danger (Article 125 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, demanded a report on the progress of the investigation.
The Zelenodolsk prosecutor«s office has taken control of the case. The head of Zelenodolsky District, Mikhail Afanasyev, expressed condolences to the family. The Investigative Committee of Tatarstan will conduct an examination and check the family»s well-being level.
Acrobat Falls from Bicycle in Circus
At the Kazan Circus, an artist during a performance fell from a stunt bicycle. He lost consciousness and was hospitalized for examination.
The incident occurred on 25 October during a daytime performance. Matvey Tsirenshchikov from the «Acrobats on BMX» act was injured.
The circus management reported on social media that the acrobat was revived backstage, examined by doctors, and had no complaints. Currently, the artist is feeling well, and no injuries were found.
Criminal Case Against Lawyer Who Won 20-Year-Old Case
A criminal case has been opened against Kazan lawyer Inna Barlyova. According to the Investigative Committee, she influenced the jury«s decision and published personal data of witnesses. The lawyer herself is convinced that she was simply doing her job, and the case against her is revenge for the acquittal.
The case is that last year, Barlyova defended Ibragim Zakiev in court, who was accused of two murders that occurred 20 years ago. She managed to secure an acquittal for him.
But soon after, Barlyova and journalist Iskander Siraziev, founder of the newspaper «Siraji Suze» who covered this story, themselves became subjects of a criminal case.
According to one of the witnesses, in a video recorded by the lawyer, his personal data was disclosed. Specifically, that he previously worked as a law enforcement officer and that another witness has a diagnosis.
Barlyova believes that she did not disclose any personal information, as this data was already contained in the case materials.

In the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Education and Science of Tatarstan, 116.RU reported that the holiday is not celebrated in educational institutions and state organizations, but there are no official recommendations or bans regarding Halloween.
At the same time, the departments emphasized that work is underway in the republic to popularize Russian holidays and preserve its own culture and traditions.
