Funeral Location Set for Journalist Sergei Sholokhov

Sergei Sholokhov, a renowned Soviet and Russian journalist and TV host, died on July 18 at the age of 67. The funeral will take place on July 26 at Smolensk Cemetery in St. Petersburg. A farewell ceremony will be held on the same day, announced the journalist«s stepson Vsevolod Moskvin.

Sholokhov was born and raised in Leningrad. He gained widespread fame through the publicistic program «Pyatoye Koleso» (Fifth Wheel). Since 1991, he was the author and host of the program «Tikhiy Dom» (Quiet House), dedicated to cinema and culture.

Over the years, he worked as a visiting scholar at Harvard University, headed the production center «Petersburg — Kultura» (Culture), and also served as deputy chairman of GTRK «Petersburg — Pyaty Kanal» (State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company «Petersburg — Fifth Channel»).
