Since July 2026, a new state service — the «Social Nanny» — has been operating in Yaroslavl Oblast. With its help, parents can leave a child under 3 under supervision for free for up to 4 hours a day. However, the service is not available to everyone.
Governor Mikhail Evraev explained: «We are introducing a new »Social Nanny« service for caring for children under three to support parents who are short on time due to study or work. This help can be used by young, large, and student families, single mothers, and those raising a child with a disability.»
A nanny can look after a child for up to 4 hours a day. You can invite the nanny home or leave the child at social service centers, as well as at the rehabilitation «Family Center» at 18 Yunosti Street.
To use the service, a family must confirm their need. This requires going through two state organizations.
First, parents or legal representatives submit an application to the GKU YaO «Unified Center for Social Support of the Population of Yaroslavl Oblast» to be recognized as in need and to obtain an individual program. After receiving the documents, they must contact the social service organization with a written request for the service.
Other support measures for young parents in Yaroslavl Oblast:
  • 300 thousand rubles ($3,000) for the birth of a third child (if both parents are under 35)
  • 200 thousand rubles ($2,000) at the birth of the first child before 25, second before 27, third before 29
  • free rental of children«s items (strollers, cribs, high chairs, and much more)
