Free Babysitting Service Launched in Yaroslavl Region

Families with young children can request a free babysitter for up to four hours daily.
A new option for families with young children has appeared in the Yaroslavl region — a «social nanny». Parents can get free help caring for a child under 3. The state service is effective from July 2026, but is not available to everyone.
«We are introducing a new service «Social Nanny» for caring for toddlers up to three years old to support parents who are short on time due to study or work. Young, large families, student families, single mothers, and those raising a child with disabilities can use this help,» said Yaroslavl region governor Mikhail Evraev.
The nanny will watch the child for up to 4 hours a day. You can invite the assistant to your home or leave the child at social service centers or at the rehabilitation «Family Center» (18 Yunosti Street).
However, to invite a free nanny, you must first prove that your family is in need of help. To apply, you need to go through two state organizations.
To receive the service, parents or legal representatives need to submit an application to the state institution «Unified Center for Social Support of the Population of the Yaroslavl Region» to be recognized as in need of this service and to obtain an individual program. After receiving the necessary documents, they must submit a written application to the social service organization to request the service.
What else can young parents in the Yaroslavl region expect:
300 thousand rubles (approximately $3,300 at current rates) for the birth of a third child (if both parents are under 35);
200 thousand rubles (approximately $2,200 at current rates) for the birth of the first child before age 25, the second before age 27, and the third before age 29;
free rental of children’s items (strollers, cribs, high chairs, and much more).
