Five Traffic Accidents in a Day, Vologda Oblast

Over the past 24 hours, five traffic accidents with injuries occurred on the roads of Vologda Oblast — five people were injured. Another 33 accidents were recorded with property damage only. Officers of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GIBDD) removed seven drivers who were intoxicated and 20 motorists without licenses from driving. For not using seat belts, 102 drivers were held accountable. 39 pedestrians were fined for traffic violations, and 18 drivers for improper transportation of passengers, including four for transporting children. Eight reports were filed for identified road surface deficiencies.

One of the accidents occurred at 02:40 in the village of Nyuksenitsa on Proletarskaya Street at building 1A. According to preliminary data, a teenager born in 2008, without a driver’s license, intoxicated and without a motorcycle helmet, was riding an Izh-Jupiter motorcycle. He drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Lada Vesta driven by a young man born in 2006. As a result, the motorcycle passenger — a boy born in 2009 — sustained injuries.

At 12:25 in the town of Kharovsk at the intersection of Lenin and Sovetskaya streets, a Renault Logan driven by a man born in 1971 collided with a Hovo truck driven by a driver born in 1986. The Renault driver failed to yield the right-of-way. He sustained injuries.

At 14:00 at the 79th kilometer of the Chekshino — Totma — Kotlas — Kuratovo highway in Totemsky District, a woman born in 1982 driving a Range Rover drove into a ditch, after which the car overturned. A passenger — a boy born in 2013 — was taken to the hospital.

The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate reminds: when getting behind the wheel, every driver is responsible for their own life and the safety of others. It is necessary to strictly observe the order of passing through intersections, turn on turn signals in advance, and perform maneuvers only with full visibility.
