Ex-Sigma Yug Director Faces Trial in Volgograd
The trial of former Sigma Yug management company director Timofey Biryukov has begun at Volgograd's Traktorozavodsky District Court on bribery charges.

At the Traktorozavodsky District Court in Volgograd, the hearing began in the case of Timofey Biryukov, former director of Sigma Yug Management Company (OOO UK Sigma Yug). The former manager is accused of giving a bribe to an official to commit illegal actions.
According to the case file, the criminal case was submitted to the court on June 26. It was assigned to a judge the same day, and on July 6 an order was issued to schedule a hearing.
Timofey Biryukov was detained on March 16, 2026, with the information becoming public the next day. Sources said the reason was bribery.
«They were detained on March 16 during a joint operation involving several agencies, including the Economic Crimes Division of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Volgograd Region,» a source said. «Timofey Biryukov was arrested and is in custody; Anatoly Meshcheryakov is under house arrest with no communication allowed. Questions are expected to be raised about other group members, including the founder. According to some data, long-overdue issues have arisen regarding the holding of general building meetings when taking over apartment buildings — which involves falsification of meeting minutes, embezzlement, and fraud.»
On March 17, a video of the arrest of the 44-year-old management company director was published on the official pages of the Volgograd Regional Police. Police said the man was suspected of receiving and giving bribes.
The footage released by law enforcement shows officers storming a house where the suspect was located, then he is lying on the floor talking to operatives:

Some time later, the company changed its director. Yuri Mashtaller became the head of Sigma Yug Management Company instead of Timofey Biryukov.
The first substantive hearing began on July 20 at 10:00. The case is being heard by Judge Diana Shipaeva.
