Water in Tyumen meets safety standards, the information center of the Tyumen region government reports, citing Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing).

«The agency has intensified laboratory monitoring of the open source of drinking water supply — the Tura River — and tap water in the network since July 16. Tests of drinking water and source water are conducted daily, including for the »toxicity index« parameter, at the accredited laboratory of the Federal Budgetary Healthcare Institution »Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Tyumen Region«,» authorities stated.

The statement also said that according to the latest data as of July 19, the water meets the standards.

Earlier, we reported that Tyumen residents complained about water from the Tura. According to them, it had a very strong smell. The unpleasant odor was also present on the embankment. In a separate article, we explained why this is happening.

Many dead and half-dead fish were spotted on the embankment. We are showing photos — the relevant authorities are already conducting an investigation.
