Dalmatovo Tracks Iset Level Ahead of Possible Flood
A temporary accommodation center was prepared in Dalmatovo in case the Iset River overflows its banks.
In Dalmatovo, a dangerous rise in the water level of the Iset River is forecast. An operational headquarters has been set up at the district administration to monitor the situation. A temporary accommodation center has been opened in the city, according to municipal authorities.
«Between 20 and 22 July 2026, a dangerous rise in the water level to a critical mark of 275 cm is forecast on the Iset River near the town of Dalmatovo, Kurgan Oblast. According to the Ural UGMS (Ural Hydrometeorological Service), this will lead to an expansion of the flood zone for residential houses and adjacent territories located in the river floodplain,» wrote Ilya Vinshtein, author of the project «Weather 45 — weather in Kurgan,» in his group on the social network VKontakte.
On Saturday in Dalmatovo on Beregovaya Street, water pipes that run through the roadway were temporarily blocked to prevent the Iset River water from flowing through the pipes onto private territories. Water is entering gardens located in low-lying areas close to the river. However, there is no threat of flooding of residential buildings.
Employees of agencies are conducting door-to-door visits and distributing leaflets with emergency service numbers to those living in the risk zone.
