Convicts Clear Ryazan Streets of Snow on Holidays

Individuals sentenced to forced labor, serving their sentences in correctional centers in Ryazan Oblast, are clearing the aftermath of January snowfalls. This was reported by the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service Directorate for Ryazan Oblast (UFSIN).
During heavy snowfalls, the convicts worked even on holidays and in the evenings. Their duties include clearing snow and ice from public transport stops and sidewalks, and treating roadways and sidewalks with anti-icing materials.
In total, over 80 individuals sentenced to forced labor have been employed by the city«s improvement directorate. They perform work, including operating snow removal equipment.
All tractor drivers have undergone training and received the specialty of a mechanizer. After release, the convicts can take the opportunity to continue working in the city improvement directorate.
It is noted that during the cooperation between the regional UFSIN and the Ryazan mayor«s office, at least five people have remained working in the road improvement directorate after release.
