Chita Building Freezes for 10 Days; Elders in Valenki
Heating parameters have dropped in the apartments of the multi-apartment building at Avtogennaya, 10, in Chita since January 20, and the issue is still being fixed. Two residents reported this to a Chita.Ru correspondent on January 30, and the information was confirmed by Renat Akinzhanov, director of the management company «Pyataya».
«In the apartments today it»s +10 degrees Celsius (50°F) with heaters, the radiators are icy and have started leaking,« wrote one resident.
«We»re all freezing in the building, elders are sleeping in valenki (traditional felt boots), and we have small children. The windows are already covered with ice, and heaters aren«t helping. They took temperature measurements in the apartments; it was +16 degrees Celsius (61°F) then, and now it»s +9°C (48°F),« wrote another resident.
The head of the management company, Renat Akinzhanov, said that specialists are working to fix the problem together with TGC-14: «TGC has installed calculation cones on each thermal unit, which are sealed. We can»t intervene there without them. Before, there was a different system, a different calculation cone. As soon as it was changed, problems started. Now the parameters are lowered, we have recorded that the residents« temperature does not meet the standard. We are adjusting the thermal units together with TGC-14; this morning the chief engineer met with them again. We hope to resolve everything today.»
He added that the issue is under control: specialists have met with residents, and after the problem is fixed, a recalculation is planned for them.
Update: after the news was published, TGC-14 reported that the breakdown in the building occurred at the thermal elevator unit: «This is the responsibility zone of the management company. TGC-14 is helping to fix the problem. They pulled out the cone and calculated the nozzle diameter in the elevator unit; soon the management company will turn the building back on.»
