Chelyabinsk Readers Divided Over Kindergarten Swearing Incident
Chelyabinsk has been discussing a swearing scandal at a kindergarten for several days, caused by the father of a boy who did not receive a New Year«s present at a holiday matinee. Readers of 74.RU have also spoken out about the incident, with many taking the parent»s side:
«How could they not have counted the presents? They [the parents] filmed him themselves, posted it online, and are now complaining that the media is full of it, — Anastasia does not understand.
«It»s clear the father behaved overly emotionally, but when your child«s celebration is taken away, they first did nothing to calm him down, and then stupidly tried to shove a present into his hands instead of having Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) regift it, many would have lost their patience, — believes Matvey. — Still, for any father, the happiness of his son or daughter is more important, so both sides are wrong here.»
«The dad is, of course, wrong, I don»t justify him, but this is also no way to act, — wrote Irina. — If you see a [present] is missing, I would have given my own child«s present or dashed to the trunk of my car. Of course, the father«s behavior also raised questions for most Chelyabinsk residents:

And some believe the kindergarten staff and the animators performing at the celebration could have prevented the scandal:

«The adults should have gotten their bearings right at the matinee, during the celebration, and not continued to watch or ignore the child»s tears. What kind of Ded Moroz is that who couldn«t get out of the situation? — asks Svetlana. — He could have played it out somehow, called Snegurochka (the Snow Maiden) for help, they could have chatted with the child, distracted him, and during that time found the present. But everyone was indifferent. I feel sorry for the little kid.»

To recap, the conflict occurred at a kindergarten in Chelyabinsk on 23 December. The child«s father caused a scandal due to a mix-up with a present at the New Year»s matinee. Soon after, the enraged father was detained by police and a report was filed for petty hooliganism. The 35-year-old Chelyabinsk resident was taken to the «Kurchatovsky» police department, where he apologized for his behavior on camera. Later, the parents explained why the conflict happened.
