Chelyabinsk Company Forges Export Deal with Ethiopia

Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) arrived in Chelyabinsk Oblast. During the visit, they met with regional officials and toured the production facilities of the LD Group of companies, after which an agreement on long-term cooperation was reached.

The guests visited three enterprises of the holding — ChelyabinskSpetsGrazhdanStroy, the Chelyabinsk Flange Plant, and LD Pride. The Ethiopian delegation at the talks was led by the owner of a trading company and international expert Fitsum Abraha.

“I am genuinely surprised by the scale of production and the quality of Russian valve fittings. Before the visit to Chelyabinsk, colleagues sent me videos of each of the LD plants, but what I saw in person truly impressed me: modern spacious workshops, automation, and a scientific approach to production. I am confident that partners in Ethiopia will appreciate this,” said Fitsum Abraha.

Dmitry Glukharev, Minister of International and Interregional Cooperation of Chelyabinsk Oblast, joined the dialogue. He emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with African states: “Chelyabinsk Oblast is one of the key industrial centers of the country, and today our production potential is in demand far beyond Russia. The visit of the delegation from Ethiopia is an important step in developing international cooperation: it allows us to showcase the capabilities of our enterprises and outline specific areas of joint work.”

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to work out the terms of a mutually beneficial partnership in detail. This opens the door for Russian industrial products to the African continent. Ivan Litvyakov, Director of Ravani-Rus, explained: “Export for the LD Group is a development priority for years to come. For us, the African continent is a separate strategic project that we launched at the end of last year. We have already made a delivery of our products to Egypt and are now focusing on Ethiopia. The country is developing very dynamically, with extensive civil infrastructure being built. We consider Ethiopia one of the key entry points into the African market and will be paying it increasing attention in the near future.”

The Ethiopian market is becoming a new direction not only for the export of LD Group products but for the entire Chelyabinsk Oblast.
