On January 20, the Tula Regional Youth Center hosted a ceremonial award ceremony for the winners of the regional competition «Athlete of the Year — 2025». The event brought together leading athletes, coaches, and representatives of government and business in the region. Chairman of the Board of Directors of GC Polyplast Alexander Zinurovich Shamsutdinov was awarded the silver medal «For Special Contribution to the Development of the Tula Region». The award was presented by the region«s governor Dmitry Vyacheslavovich Milyaev.

“Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin pays great attention to the development of physical culture and sports. This year, the commission of the Russian State Council on the direction «Physical Culture and Sports» will continue its work. A whole range of various issues will be considered. We expect that initiatives for sports development will come from our athletes and coaches, which we will be able to examine and work on in detail,” the governor noted.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of GC Polyplast Alexander Zinurovich Shamsutdinov presented the award to the winner in the category «Overcoming — Best Coach-Teacher for Training Athletes with Limited Physical Abilities». This category traditionally recognizes the outstanding contribution of coaches to the development of adaptive sports in the region. It was awarded to Valery Nikolaevich Kobzarenko — a coach-teacher for sports for the blind (discipline — cycling).

“Presenting the award in this category is a great honor. Coaches who work with special athletes do very important work. They help people believe in themselves and achieve success. Supporting adaptive sports is one of our main priorities. We will continue to help by creating all the necessary conditions for it,” noted Alexander Zinurovich.

In the category «Overcoming — Best Athlete with Limited Physical Abilities», the award was received by the team «AKM-sledge» — the current Russian champion in sledge hockey.
