Captivating and Disgusting Spectacle in the Park

A video that is both curious and repulsive was published on 20 January in the community «Griby i Gribniki SPb» (Mushrooms and Mushroom Pickers of St. Petersburg). The footage was taken in Udelnaya Park in St. Petersburg.

Photographer Anton Kubyshkin recorded the moment when a slug eats a blue-green chlorociboria mushroom. «An incredibly interesting spectacle, as pieces of the bright mushroom disappear into the translucent body of the slug,» commented the author of the footage.

Although slugs are rarely loved by anyone, especially mushroom pickers who see them as competitors, these creatures have unique abilities. For example, they can shed damaged parts of their body and regenerate.
