Brazen Perfume Thief Caught on Video in Volgograd

In the Dzerzhinsky District of Volgograd, a theft of expensive perfume occurred at the Park House shopping center. The perpetrator took advantage of the moment when the seller stepped away for a short break.
Surveillance camera footage shows the man initially standing at the counter, looking around. Then he takes one of the bottles and, after ensuring no one is watching, calmly leaves the scene.
«Yesterday I stepped away for a break for literally 5 minutes,» the store owner recounts. «I returned, noticed the perfume bottle missing, checked the cameras, and immediately called the police. The theft amounts to 87,500 rubles ($972).»
The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Volgograd Region (GU MVD) reported that a statement has been registered regarding the incident. An investigation is underway to identify the suspect.
Earlier, at a grocery store in the city, police detained a man nicknamed Socrates, who attempted to steal a pack of cigarettes and several shampoos. He was caught while trying to flee.
