Arkhangelsk Northern District Hot Water Off Until July 24

Today, July 20, hot water supply will be cut off in the Northern District of Arkhangelsk, as well as in several blocks along Severodvinskaya Street. There will be no hot water until July 24.

The editorial office of 29.RU inquired with the Arkhangelsk administration about which homes would be affected by this shutdown, but the department did not provide exact addresses. TGC-2 only confirmed to the editorial office that the shutdown will occur throughout the entire Northern District.

Earlier, the shutdown in the Sulfat district was planned from July 13–20, but the dates were later changed.

Also in Arkhangelsk, the dates for hydraulic tests, during which hot water is cut off citywide, have been shifted. They will take place from July 28 to August 6 (initially reported to be from July 25 to August 2).

Summer Shutdown Timeline

The first hot water shutdown occurred on May 29 across all of Arkhangelsk and lasted until June 7, but at some addresses hot water was absent for a whole month.

Planned district-by-district hot water shutdowns began on June 15 from the city center. In some homes, after hydraulic tests, hot water appeared for only one day: it was reconnected on June 14. Ultimately, it was decided not to postpone the repair schedules.

Northerners complained about the discrepancy between the connection schedule for hot water and reality: on the scheduled dates, hot water was not connected to their homes. City residents were massively dissatisfied. The Arkhangelsk authorities, in response to complaints about the lack of hot water, advised residents to use water heaters. This advice angered the residents of Arkhangelsk.
