Arkhangelsk landmark sign to get missing dash
The sign will get lighting
The symbol «Arkhangelsk — city of fishermen» on Leningradsky Prospekt will be renovated this year. The structure was promised to be changed by Dmitry Morev.
«At a meeting with residents of the Varavino-Faktoria district, I promised to put it in order — and I keep my word. The project is developed, now we are deciding on a contractor,» the head of the city wrote on social media.
The metal base of the word «ARKHANGELSK» is promised to be preserved, but all letters will be replaced with new ones.
«The words »CITY« and »FISHERMEN« will be mounted on new supports — they will be moved closer to the main word, and a missing dash will appear between them. The structures will be protected from corrosion and painted with durable acrylic paint,» the mayor outlined the work plan.
The sign will get contour architectural lighting.
«Around the perimeter of the letters, we will install flexible white neon — 180 meters of tape, 4 separate control circuits, reliable power supplies and automation. The work includes laying cables in trenches, connecting to an outdoor lighting pole, and installing panel equipment.»
According to the contract terms, the completion deadline is October 30.
«The sign is the business card of Arkhangelsk. It should look decent both during the day and at night. We will do it as agreed!» summed up Dmitry Morev.
