Antibiotic in Sinyavinskaya Eggs: Farm Denies

The Sinyavinskaya poultry farm in the Leningrad region, the largest egg producer in Europe, is undergoing an unscheduled inspection after an antibiotic was found in its products. The management claims the eggs are safe.

Rosselkhoznadzor (the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) reported on July 21 that an antibiotic had been found in Sinyavinskaya eggs. The violation was detected in two batches during food monitoring. Samples were taken from C0 category eggs «Sinyavinskoye k zavtraku» and C1 category «Sinyavinskoye derevenskoye». The laboratory test results arrived at the end of June.

The unscheduled inspection began on July 20. Representatives of the farm confirmed the inspection but denied the presence of antibiotics in their products.

Sinyavinskaya is the largest poultry farm in Europe. In 2024, it was recognized as the best in Russia for food egg production. On February 12, 2026, the enterprise set a national record for daily egg production — 5.1 million eggs. «The best result in Russia from a single poultry farm per day,» the regional committee for the agro-industrial complex stated.
