Antibiotic Found in Sinyavinskaya Eggs, Farm Denies
Antibiotic content was detected in two batches of eggs from the Sinyavinskaya poultry farm. An unscheduled inspection began on July 20.

Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) detected an antibiotic in chicken eggs from the Sinyavinskaya poultry farm in the Leningrad region. This became known on July 21. The substance was found in two product batches: «Sinyavinskoye k zavtraku» (category C0) and «Sinyavinskoye derevenskoye» (category C1). Samples were taken by employees of the agency«s North-Western Interregional Directorate as part of food monitoring. Laboratory test results were obtained at the end of June.
On July 20, an unscheduled inspection began at the enterprise. Sinyavinskaya confirmed that the inspection is ongoing, but denied the presence of an antibiotic.
The Sinyavinskaya poultry farm is the largest egg producer in Europe. According to 2024 results, it was recognized as the best in Russia for food egg production. On February 12, 2026, the enterprise set a national record for daily production — 5.1 million eggs. The Leningrad Region Committee for the Agro-Industrial Complex then noted: «The best result in Russia from a single poultry farm per day.»
