For two days, July 18 and 19, 2026, 502 traffic violations were identified in Ulyanovsk Oblast. Officers of Gosavtoinspektsiya (the State Traffic Inspectorate, GAI) drew up administrative materials for various types of offenses.
22 drivers were detained for driving while intoxicated. Two of them had previously been charged with a similar offense — now they face criminal liability.
- Three drivers were punished for failing to yield to pedestrians at crosswalks.
- Three pedestrians, on the other hand, themselves violated traffic rules.
- Eight drivers drove into oncoming traffic.
- 90 drivers were held liable for excessive window tinting — light transmittance did not meet technical regulations.
- 19 drivers were fined for illegible license plates.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds: a car is a source of increased danger. Drivers are advised to obey speed limits, follow traffic lights, road markings and signs, and reduce speed in advance before pedestrian crossings and public transport stops.
Pedestrians are advised to cross the road only at crosswalks and after making sure that all vehicles have stopped. They should not be distracted by conversations or mobile phones when stepping onto the roadway. At night or in poor visibility, it is recommended to wear clothing with reflective elements. Safety on the road depends on the discipline of every road user.
