A popular social-media blogger with tens of thousands of followers, a “country lad” from Leninsky District of Volgograd Oblast (region), has shared a recipe for ukha (Russian fish soup) whose aroma will have the neighbors running over. You can almost smell it through the screen.
«We’re making ukha on the Volga. Set the pot over the fire. Rinse the fish and cut it up. Salt, pepper, and drop it into the water,» explains Nikolai Zlydnev. «Cut the onions and carrots on the chunky side, skimming off the foam from time to time. As soon as the fish is cooked, take it out. Add the onions and carrots. Chop the potatoes; add bell pepper and tomatoes to the pot. A little millet. Then add the potatoes. Keep the spices to a minimum; add more salt if necessary. Add a little fresh herbs. Look how rich it turned out. Enjoy your meal, everyone!»
Earlier, Nikolai Zlydnev shared a recipe for another simple yet very tasty dish. All you need are meat, potatoes, and onions. It might seem like nothing special, but just look how appetizing it is! According to him, the main secret lies in marinated onions.
