Samara Oblast trades dangerous meat
The Directorate of Rospotrebnadzor for Samara Oblast (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) checked the quality and safety of meat products in the region. The results were disappointing: 28 samples did not meet standards.
During the first half of 2026, 552 samples of meat products were studied:
57 samples for compliance with sanitary and chemical indicators;
77 samples for compliance with physical and chemical indicators;
8 samples for GMO presence;
330 samples for microbiological indicators;
56 samples for antibiotic content;
18 samples for radiological indicators;
6 samples for parasitological indicators.
“Laboratory tests showed that 28 samples did not meet the requirements of the Customs Union technical regulation ‘On safety of meat and meat products.’ In one case, violations of physical and chemical indicators were recorded. That product was not allowed for sale in retail chains,” representatives of the supervisory agency said.
The regional Rospotrebnadzor office drew up 34 protocols for violations of sanitary and technical requirements.
“Decisions were issued for a total of 215,000 rubles ($2,400 at current rates). For seven protocols, decisions were issued imposing administrative penalties in the form of warnings,” said Rospotrebnadzor of Samara Oblast.
