Pumpkin and Apple Fritters: A Simple Recipe

How to make pumpkin and apple fritters?
Pumpkin and apple fritters turn out incredibly juicy, tender, and give a powerful energy boost. Moreover, the combination of vegetables and fruits makes these fritters far more valuable for the body than the usual pancakes made with milk or kefir. Nadezhda Shulgina from Barnaul shared her tried-and-true recipe.
What you«ll need to make them:
Pumpkin: 350 g (fresh);
Apples: 2 (preferably sweet and firm varieties);
Milk: ½ cup (preferably whole);
Flour: 4 heaping tbsp;
Egg: 1;
Sugar: 1 tbsp (a little more if you like it sweeter);
Salt: a pinch;
Vegetable oil: for frying.
How to cook:
Prepare the base. Peel the pumpkin, remove seeds and fibrous parts. Grate the flesh on a coarse grater. Also peel the apples (especially if the skin is tough or waxy) and core them, then grate them — choose the grating size to your taste.
Mix the batter. Combine the pumpkin and apples in a deep bowl. Add the egg, sugar, salt, milk, and sifted flour. Mix thoroughly — you should get a thick, sticky mass of bright orange color.
Frying. Heat a skillet with a little oil. Drop the batter by spoonfuls to form neat fritters. Fry them over medium heat on both sides until golden brown (this usually takes about 10–12 minutes).
Serve the fritters hot, piled in an appetizing stack. To make breakfast even tastier, drizzle them with honey or condensed milk.
