Popular restaurant reopens with new hall, more seats
Many Yekaterinburg residents love to gather with their whole families and children or with a large group of friends at the Ratatouille Family restaurant on Lunacharskogo Street, 128. It recently reopened its doors after a major renovation.
— We used the quiet January period to present guests with an updated restaurant by the start of the holiday season in February and March, — says the team at Ratatouille.
This year the brand celebrates 15 years since its founding. Originally, the restaurant on Lunacharskogo occupied a different location — at Vostochnaya Street, 72. The establishment moved to the new address in September 2021 and has since undergone its first interior changes. But the concept remains the same: it is a restaurant with a homey atmosphere for those who prioritize the taste of the dishes. Over the years, Ratatouille has rightfully earned a reputation as one of the most popular establishments in Yekaterinburg, always welcoming large groups of friends and families with children.
What has changed
One of the main new features is the small hall «Qvevri». Qvevri is a clay vessel in which grapes slowly turn into wine, gaining depth and character. The hall was created on the same principle: it turned out to be a place where, in a warm atmosphere, the most precious moments of guests will be born. «Qvevri» seats 10 people and will only be available by prior reservation. It can be rented for a special occasion — for example, a birthday, a small wedding with the closest people, or a small corporate event.
At the same time, the «Badrijani» hall has been completely redesigned. Architect Yulia Aristova worked on the project. Key changes include seating arrangements: now guests can comfortably sit either in large groups or as couples. Columns and a glass partition have appeared in the center of the hall, zoning the space. Along the windows are round tables and large handmade lamps. For large groups, the communal table area is separated from the rest of the hall by a wine-colored screen.
— We wanted to create a transformable space that would be filled with light during the day, which is especially valuable for our guests in the winter months, and in the evening become more intimate and atmospheric, — comments Yulia. — The concept is based on warm, enveloping shades, natural materials, wood, and textiles. There is painting on the ceiling and walls. And, of course, we kept the painting «Girl on a Sofa» that many guests loved. Now the atmosphere of the establishment has become even cozier and more romantic. At the same time, the «Badrijani» hall is ideal for large banquets and celebrations.
In the future, the team of the restaurant plans to update the «Ratatouille» hall for non-smoking guests, which is located next to the large children«s room. By the way, having such a playroom is rare for establishments today, but Ratatouille Family does not bear its name in vain: it is ideal for a rest with children.
The restaurant now has 183 seats: 120 in the «Ratatouille» hall and 63 in «Badrijani». This means guests will feel even more comfortable.
What to try
The menu of Ratatouille Family has been updated for the winter holidays. Now guests can either order the beloved dishes they missed during the renovation or discover new flavors. Among the new items, we recommend trying the juicy duck leg confit with mashed potatoes and berry sauce. Beautiful presentation and incredible tenderness of the meat — clearly a recipe for success.
Meat lovers will also enjoy the veal cheeks with mashed potatoes — hearty and very tasty. Seafood lovers will appreciate the shrimp cakes with truffle ptitim and aromatic mushroom sauce. And those with a sweet tooth will love the new tarts — for example, mandarin or lemon with meringue. Perfect for treating yourself during the holidays.
It is also worth noting the large selection of appetizers: from an assortment of popular spreads and classic vitello tonnato to Georgian gebzhalia from the chef. For little guests, there is a separate menu with familiar items, and for those who want to have a pleasant work break, there are hearty weekday lunches.
Ratatouille Family has retained its status as a restaurant for everyday meals and special occasions. Today all three halls — «Ratatouille», «Badrijani», and «Qvevri» — are accepting table reservation requests for the upcoming holidays. But you don«t need an excuse to meet with loved ones over delicious food and heartfelt conversations. The restaurant welcomes guests every day.
