The youngest son of well-known Yakut blogger Panda Sakha has filmed his own video recipe for crucian fish soup, which he captioned as «fish tea». The short video, posted jointly on the pandasakhakids and pandasakha_official Instagram channels (an extremist organization whose activities are banned in Russia), has already drawn more than 500,000 views. The unusual cooking method involves stirring with a wooden whisk.

The «tea» recipe is very simple: all you need is crucian carp, salt and pepper to taste. In the video, the blogger«s son first lights the stove with a piece of birch bark. Then he washes and cleans the crucian carp in a basin. Next comes Panda»s signature touch: instead of water, he puts a chunk of ice into the pot and breaks it up with a Yakut knife. The young man places the crucian carp right on top of the ice pieces and covers the pot with a lid. While he waits, he goes off to mow grass.
Once the fish soup has come to a boil, it needs to be salted and peppered. Then comes an unexpected move: the young man takes a wooden whisk (ytyk) and works it the way he would whisk Yakut whipped cream (kerchekh) for breakfast. This is done to quickly break up the fish. After stirring, he strains it through a sieve. The young blogger gives the pieces of fish to his dog and pours the soup into a cup for himself.
In the comments, people thanked him for the recipe and praised the soup. Most viewers were surprised at how quickly Panda Sakha«s sons had grown up and at the discovery that soup can, it turns out, be drunk like tea.
