Like Grandma's: A Simple Homemade Cookie Recipe from a Barnaul Resident

A visual guide to baking tender, buttery cookies that evoke childhood nostalgia.
This delicious dessert can easily bring back childhood memories. Barnaul resident Anna Stepkina shared with NGS22.RU a simple and quick recipe that even beginner cooks can handle.
What you«ll need:
Wheat flour — 250 g
Powdered sugar — 80 g
Chicken egg — 1 pc (only the yolk is needed)
Vanillin — a pinch
Butter — 170 g
The secret to perfect cookies:
The main thing is not to overbake the cookies! Just 9–12 minutes at 180°C (356°F) or 160°C (320°F), and they will turn out tender, melting in your mouth, with a pleasant buttery aftertaste. This recipe resembles the famous «Kurabiye» (a type of shortbread cookie), but without adding jam, making it even simpler and quicker.
Preparation:
In a deep bowl, combine softened butter with powdered sugar and two tablespoons of flour. Beat with a mixer until fluffy and airy.
Add only the yolk to the butter mixture and beat again until smooth.
Gradually add the remaining flour, adding a pinch of vanillin. Gently knead a tender, slightly sticky, but very pleasant to the touch dough.
From the dough, you can form small balls, giving them the desired shape with a fork or other handy tool, creating patterns. Or use a pastry bag for more elegant products.
Place the cookies on a baking sheet, previously greased with butter or lined with parchment paper.
Place the baking sheet in a preheated oven. Bake for about 10 minutes until lightly golden.
Generously sprinkle the hot cookies with powdered sugar.
From the specified amount of ingredients, you«ll get about 34 pieces of aromatic homemade cookies. For those watching their figure — the calorie content of the finished cookies is about 440 kcal per 100 grams.
