Cucumber Prices Rise in Tyumen; Selling Prices Listed
In the Tyumen region, cucumbers are visibly becoming more expensive. Local residents have taken note of this, and their observations are confirmed by data from Tyumenstat.
In early January, the average price for a kilogram of fresh cucumbers in the region was 291.22 rubles (approximately $3 at current rates); in Tyumen, it was 291.19 rubles (approximately $3). From January 13 to 19, prices rose further to 311.18 rubles (approximately $3) and 314.72 rubles (approximately $3) respectively. In Tyumen, the average cost of these vegetables increased more than in the region as a whole.
Cucumbers have been getting more expensive for more than a month.
«In December, cucumbers became more expensive again, which is linked to increased costs for greenhouse producers on heating and electricity,» according to a Central Bank material on inflation in the Tyumen region (excluding autonomous okrugs) in December 2025.
In stores, cucumbers can be found cheaper than the data from Tyumenstat indicates. For example, a long-fruited cucumber in Lenta costs 124.99 rubles (approximately $1) per piece. Medium-fruited smooth cucumbers are sold for 184.99 rubles (approximately $2), and short-fruited spiky ones for 224.99 rubles (approximately $2) — all for 500 grams.
In Auchan, a medium-fruited cucumber costs 129.99 rubles (approximately $1). Others are more expensive — costing over 200 rubles (approximately $2). There are even some at 349.99 rubles (approximately $4) with a discount.
In Pyaterochka, one long cucumber is sold for 149.99 rubles (approximately $2), short-fruited 450 grams for 269.99 rubles (approximately $3), and medium-fruited — 1 kilogram for 315.99 rubles (approximately $4).
In Magnit, medium-fruited cucumbers are sold with a discount — 134.99 rubles (approximately $1) for 500 grams. Short-fruited ones cost 224.5 rubles (approximately $2).
