If suddenly in the morning you don«t feel like scrambled eggs or syrniki (cheese pancakes), then old-fashioned porridge will quickly come to the rescue, taking you back for a moment to childhood, to grandma»s kitchen, which smells of milk and vanilla. Svetlana Starovoytova, a resident of Barnaul, shared with the NGS22.RU editorial team a recipe for milk rice porridge that will warm you up and give you that very taste of memories.

Ingredients:

  • Round-grain rice 100 g;

  • Cold water — 250 ml;

  • Milk — 250 ml;

  • Sugar — 1 tablespoon;

  • Salt, vanilla sugar — to taste;

  • Butter — a piece.

How to cook:

Thoroughly rinse the rice until the water becomes almost clear — this will make the porridge more tender. Pour the rice into a pot, add 250 ml of water and a pinch of salt. Cook over low heat for 7–10 minutes, until the water is almost completely absorbed. Next, pour in 250 ml of milk, add sugar, stir, and cook for another 10–15 minutes on the lowest heat. The main thing — don«t forget to stir so that nothing burns.

Turn off the heat and add a piece of butter, then let the porridge stand for another 5 minutes and stir it. Serve hot.
