Barnaul resident shares slow cooker cauliflower casserole recipe

This recipe demonstrates an easy way to prepare a flavorful cauliflower casserole using a slow cooker.
Cauliflower is a real treasure trove of vitamins, from which you can prepare many different dishes. Anna Stepkina, a resident of Barnaul, shared with NGS22.RU a recipe for a tasty and juicy vegetable casserole that is easy to make in a slow cooker.
What we need:
Cauliflower — about 550 grams
Olive oil — 35 ml
White onion — 1 large head
Carrot — 1 medium piece
Milk (full-fat) — 1 cup
Chicken egg — 1 piece
Hard cheese — 140 grams
Thick sour cream and mayonnaise — 90 grams each
Salt and spices — to taste
Preparing the vegetables:
Let«s start by preparing the main ingredients. Peel and finely chop the onion. Also peel and grate the carrot. Separate the cauliflower into small florets, rinse under running water, and drain well in a colander.
Preparing the sauce:
To make the casserole tender and flavorful, let«s prepare a milk sauce. In a deep bowl, beat the egg, add milk, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Mix well until smooth. Grate the hard cheese on a coarse grater.
Next, place the prepared vegetables in the slow cooker bowl, pour the milk mixture over them, and sprinkle with grated cheese. Cook in the «Baking» or «Casserole» mode until done (approximately 40-50 minutes).
