Yekaterinburg Siblings Reunite with Brother After 22 Years

The large Khrabrov family from Yekaterinburg grew even larger in 2025: Alexandra, Danil, and Mikhail found a brother they had never seen in their lives. Dim himself only learned at age 22 that he was adopted in his family, and his biological relatives lived very nearby.

We previously told the family«s story in detail, and in this article, we recall how the lives of the sister and her three brothers unfolded.

Alexandra Khrabrova is the eldest child in the family. From age 11, Alexandra and her two younger brothers—Misha and Danya—were raised by their great-grandmother, grandmother, and grandfather. Their mother one day simply left home and never returned; a police report and search yielded nothing. First, Anna was declared missing, a year later—presumed dead. After five years, the family was issued a death certificate, but her body was never found.

Alexandra hadn«t seen her father for many years either. Anna and Denis were never married, living in what»s called a common-law marriage. When their daughter was five, they separated. Since then, the girl hadn«t seen her father.

«Dad visited in childhood, but I don»t remember that. And so, when I was 13, he found me himself, came to our neighborhood and wrote to me: «Sasha, hello, I»m your father.« He sent childhood photos that I didn»t even have; I had no photos with him at all. By then, I was, let«s say, a grown girl and understood that people separate for various reasons. I don»t know what happened between them. I«m a child, they»re parents, I didn«t interfere. I was just glad he was found, and that»s all,« Alexandra told E1.RU.

Since then, she spent a lot of time with her father and was sad that her younger brothers didn«t have that opportunity.

«I was born when my parents were still young, and a year later Misha appeared. In some argument, Mom told Dad that Misha wasn»t his son. But still, when he took me to amusement parks as a child, he took Misha too, we went everywhere together,« Alexandra says.

Anna said several more times that Misha«s father was another man, and Denis, although doubtful, couldn»t verify this. Only recently did Denis«s wife convince everyone that he and Misha looked very alike and that they should check their relationship with a DNA test, which confirmed: probability of paternity—99.9%.

«When they suggested doing this test, I looked at the photos and also thought that maybe he really is my father. At least I would find out who he is, but otherwise nothing in my life changed; I had a grandfather who raised me and taught me everything,» Misha says about the test results.

Denis immediately started calling Misha his son, but it took Misha about a month to start saying «dad.»

«First of all, it was painful. Painful for the years lived, because the person was alone and I was alone without him. Secondly, there were worries: is he mine or not, waiting for the test results. Thirdly, how my family would accept him,» Denis admitted with tears in his eyes when he saw the test result.

On 3 May 2025, the Khrabrovs faced a new surprise. Early in the morning, Alexandra received a message in a messenger with the text: «Sashenka, hello, I am the mother of your little brother» and a photo of a guy who looked very much like both Alexandra and Misha.

«I write to her: »How can you be the mother of my brother if my mother died?« And her next message made me jump out of bed: »We took him from the baby home under the name Alexander Khrabrov,«» Alexandra recounted.

Alexandra already knew about the existence of another brother but was afraid to search for him herself. She was 15 when her grandmother and great-grandmother revealed the whole truth. It turned out that many years ago, Anna had given birth to another boy and left him at the maternity hospital; she had told no one about the pregnancy.

«When I found out everything, he was 13. And how could I find him and tell him he was adopted? Even if we turned the whole city upside down and found him, it could have broken his life, since he lived his whole life in an adoptive family and thought they were his biological relatives. Why do that? Later, I was also offered to start searching, but I couldn»t put my desire to see my brother above another person«s life,» says the older sister.

After Anna finally told the family everything, her parents immediately rushed to the maternity hospital, but little Sasha—as the woman had named the boy at birth—had already been taken; a whole month had passed after the birth. In his new family, he was given the name Dima, but the Khrabrovs only learned this 22 years later.

Later, Tatyana, Dima«s adoptive mother, on the show »Let Them Talk!« on Channel One, told how the boy ended up in their family. According to her, she and her husband couldn»t have children of their own, so her husband«s sister suggested they take a child who had been abandoned, after seeing a program about such children. The broadcast showed a little girl, and Tatyana and Yevgeny went to look for her.

«I was 23, my husband—26. We took time off from work for lunch, went to the organization with abandoned children. They said they had no one; we went to the hospital, also didn»t find what we were looking for, and at the last moment they told us: «Wait, we have a boy ready for discharge. A wonderful baby!» They brought him out, placed him in my husband«s arms with the words: »Hold him, mom and dad.« And that»s all,« Tatyana shared.

Dima was 24 days old then, the documents were processed quickly, and a month after birth, the boy was already welcomed into the new family. Only when Dima became an adult did Tatyana decide to tell him that he had biological relatives.

«Mom said I have biological relatives and offered to find them. We searched on social networks, found out that there are two brothers who live in Yekaterinburg, in the Kompressorny microdistrict, and do boxing. There was nothing about mom and dad. I immediately understood what that meant: I»m adopted. We have 10 children in the family, all adopted, but I was always told I was the only biological one. I had childhood photos from when I was very little, from the baby home. So I never even thought I could be adopted too. But then the puzzle pieces fell into place,« Dima recalled about that conversation.

On the show, they did another DNA test, which confirmed that Dima, Alexandra, and Misha not only have the same mother but also the same father. All three, as well as Denis (their dad), met this news with tears in their eyes, though even without the test, it«s obvious how much the brothers and sister resemble each other.

Danya—the youngest of all—also met in the studio with his biological father, who hadn«t acknowledged his son and hadn»t participated in his life.
