Russian Widow of Nigerian Prince Dies After Alleged Curse
Natalia Vedenina turned her life into an engrossing series. At 50, when women usually stop thinking about personal life, she fell head over heels in love with a young handsome man named Paul from Nigeria. They quickly overcame the language barrier, and soon geographical boundaries became insignificant for them — Paul moved to his beloved in Cherepovets.
However, their happiness was short-lived. After a couple of years, the young man passed away, leaving the widow with two heirs, debts, and an unending longing for her beloved. Previously, Natalia joked that even after his death she would be happy and would marry again at 70. But life had other plans. The woman did not live to see 70. The widow of the Nigerian prince was reunited with her chosen one.
At the farewell, loved ones unanimously noted: Natalia knew how to rejoice in everything, even the smallest trifle, and loved life very much. Even her last words were: «I want to live.» And her story is perhaps the most winding road in the search for happiness.
«Everything was good everywhere — in life and in sex»
Natalia started a romance with Paul when she had an unhappy marriage, her ex-husband«s infidelity, a growing son, and many years of work as a nurse in a hospital behind her. She met the hereditary prince, who was 18 years younger than Natalia, on social media. Despite the language barrier, the couple quickly fell in love with each other.
»I didn«t know English or any African language. We communicated through a translator. Several years passed from our correspondence, he invited me to Nigeria. We were always good everywhere — in life and in sex,» Natalia boasted on the show «Malahov.»
Natalia and Paul married first in Nigeria, and then in Cherepovets, where Vedenina lived. The couple settled in Russia, and in 2017 they had two children.
A year after the family expanded, Paul«s heart stopped while he was resting in a nightclub. Natalia did not spare money on the funeral and specifically took out a loan to install a monument in the form of an angel.
«From the very beginning of our acquaintance, he called me »my angel.« Now I»m barely alive. Since he left, I will be next to him,« Natalia said with tears in her eyes.
»I curse them«
Before Vedenina had time to mourn her grief, Paul»s brother — Michael — appeared on the doorstep. Another guest from Nigeria declared that according to their rules, the wife is inherited, so Natalia and the children belong to him.
«We are blood brothers. His children are my children. We take care of people. It»s not about money, it«s about love and feelings, about care and family,» stated Michael.
However, the help was only in words. The new husband decided that since Natalia belonged to him, all her acquired property did too. Michael took out some equipment from the house and was gone.
Burdened with loans and abandoned with two children in her arms, Natalia remembered that while she and Paul were married, she had repeatedly given him large sums of money for the restoration of a house in Nigeria — maybe at least that remained with her? The woman packed her things and flew to her deceased husband«s homeland. Instead of a luxurious cottage with a blooming garden, she found only ruins and resentful relatives.
»Let his wife follow my son to find out where the money and house are. Those people who had a hand in my son«s death, I curse them, they will not live,» instead of a heartfelt welcome, Natalia«s mother-in-law told her.
Natalia did not pay attention to her mother-in-law»s words, spoken in the heat of the moment, went home and completely forgot about them. She registered again on a dating site and made a second attempt to find love. Her new chosen one was again a guy from Africa — 30-year-old policeman Orlando. The man was crazy about Vedenina and wanted to propose to her, but his parents were against it.
«I don»t want my son to marry Natasha. Her first husband, Paul, died, and my wife and I don«t even know the cause. I»m sure Natasha is hiding something. I fear for my son,« stated Orlando»s father.
Despite the prohibitions, the young lover flew to Natalia in Cherepovets. Before the pandemic, he lived with her, but then returned home, and communication faded away.
Natalia was not alone for long. And soon she married Fyodor Pomorov, who is 27 years younger than her.
«I want to live»
Together with her young husband, Natalia went to various shows, telling her life story and making plans for the future. However, she noticed that her health was rapidly deteriorating.
«From the very beginning, she had pulmonary edema. Then she also had arrhythmia and pressure spiked to 220. All these pills in large quantities, apparently, raised her sugar,» believes Natalia«s last husband, Fyodor.
Vedenina often ended up in the hospital with elevated sugar, which could reach 26 units. Her legs swelled more and more, she could barely walk.
Natalia was fading away at a rapid pace, and doctors could do nothing about it. They had to amputate her foot. Vedenina hoped until the last that after the operation her life would improve and the illnesses would retreat.
»I want to live. Tomorrow I have an operation, they decided to amputate this leg. That«s all. Stood firmly on the ground. Well, such is fate,» she wrote to her husband before lying on the operating table.
After Natalia underwent the operation, complications began, and she died.
«A curse definitely existed»
Fyodor blames the unfortunate trip to Nigeria to relatives for his beloved«s death. It was after that Vedenina fell ill, and she was sick all the time. He cannot get rid of the thought that a curse was involved. This is confirmed by Paul»s uncle — David, who took the throne instead of his nephew.
«I know that Natalia»s relations with Paul«s parents were not very good, especially with his mother. It»s not just physical attacks. A curse definitely existed. It must be remembered that Paul«s mother had no access to the grandchildren, this could have led to misunderstanding that grew into a curse,» said David.
Relatives never came to a consensus on what was the main cause of Natalia«s death. Now they are concerned with another question: what will happen to her minor children. Vedenina»s eldest son is at the front, but he has a wife Ksenia. It is she who wants to take the boys. However, guardianship does not yet give approval.
«In guardianship, I was told: neither to yours nor to this one (Natalia»s apartment. — Ed.) can the children be brought. Immediate refusal, they go to an orphanage. We are now resolving the issue of buying an apartment,« Ksenia reported in the program.
