Perm man secretly flies to Kazan, proposes on stage
A master«s student and employee of Perm State Pedagogical University proposed to his girlfriend right during the finals of the All-Russian Student Spring in Kazan. He flew to Tatarstan secretly and, together with the organizers, staged his entrance onto the stage. We spoke with the newly engaged groom and are telling how he managed to pull this off.
Online, a touching video from Student Spring in Kazan is being discussed: a mime pulls a guy in a white shirt from the audience, hands him a huge microphone, and shows signs that say «You won» and «You lost». An actress leads the young man onto the stage and hands him a regular microphone. The guy greets the crowd as if it were planned, and then proposes to the girl.
«Honestly, I didn»t prepare any speech today because I believe that everything should come from the heart. And especially what I want to say now,» he says.
After that, the young man shows the audience a sign passed by the mime. It says «Marry me». The girl in the audience cries from happiness and surprise and agrees to marry her beloved.
The romantic turned out to be 24-year-old Anton Plyusnin. He is studying for a master«s degree at Perm State Humanitarian and Pedagogical University and works as an assistant in the department of general linguistics, Russian, and Komi-Permyak languages. The bride is 20-year-old Alyona — a final-year student at the faculty of foreign languages. The couple met while working on one of the university»s projects, and a year ago, on November 28, 2024, they started dating.
«From that moment, we lived all moments together: we won in competitions, sometimes lost, but all these difficulties, hardships, and joys we shared with each other,» Anton told 59.RU.
Anton was not supposed to be in Kazan. He went there secretly, specifically on their anniversary. Until the moment he went on stage, Alyona did not know that the guy was somewhere nearby.
«I planned this for a whole week: I negotiated with my boss to let me go, because at work I needed to handle things, so to speak,» Anton told 59.RU about his plan. «A day before, we met with the director of the closing ceremony, rehearsed this block, which included an award ceremony. All I had to do was hide that day and go on stage in the evening.»
According to Anton, many consider a proposal in such a format a beautiful act. He says that he managed to please not only Alyona but also relatives and acquaintances. After the video spread online, people wrote to Anton, saying that he managed to make them a little happier and lift their mood.
In the moment, it seemed to Anton that everything happening was unreal. He considered different outcomes of the situation.
«I was standing and thinking: “What if I don«t go out now? What if she runs away now?”. But she said “yes”, and we became engaged,» Anton summarized his story.
