Omsk Halves Payments to Families of Deceased Special Operation Participants

Dmitry Ushakov, first deputy chairman of Omsk region government, signed the decree that adjusts payment amounts for affected families.
In the Omsk region, payments to families of killed special military operation participants have been halved — from 1 million rubles (approximately $10,000 USD) to 500,000 rubles (approximately $5,000 USD). The corresponding decree was signed by the first deputy chairman of the Omsk region government, Dmitry Ushakov. It appeared on the legal information website yesterday, January 30.
According to the document, if a participant of the special military operation died between February 1 and June 30, 2026, the payment is 500,000 rubles (approximately $5,000 USD). From February 24, 2022 to January 31, 2026, families received 1 million rubles (approximately $10,000 USD).
«A one-time payment in equal shares is provided to family members of a special military operation participant who had a place of residence in the Omsk region on the day of death, or if the burial of the participant was carried out in the region,» the decree states.
Previously, NGS55.RU reported that the wife of a special military operation fighter was deprived of payments after giving birth to a child from another man.
