Millionaire Mikhail Khubutia explains his side in Yulia Van axe attack case
Yulia Van gave birth to a daughter claimed to be Khubutia«s, but he expresses doubts about paternity.
In 2025, model and businesswoman Yulia Van accused millionaire and former trade minister of Moscow Region of attacking her with an axe. The court placed Mikhail Khubutia under eight months of house arrest, and in December gave him a suspended sentence and ordered him to pay compensation for treatment. But that was not the end of the story. While Yulia says she continues to receive threats, Mikhail has taken the floor and made his confession.

«I cannot live with my wife in deceit»
The millionaire met Yulia through a manager. He planned to spend only one night with the girl, for which he paid $10,000. However, fate brought them together again after a concert of their mutual acquaintance Yuri Rozum.

Mikhail did not refuse such a pleasant acquaintance and went with Yulia to Suzdal. During the trip, Van came up with a profitable scheme for why Khubutia should continue to meet with her, and not with someone else.
«I came up with a business package for you. You give me exactly a million rubles a month (approximately $11,000 at current rates), I give you a gold card. It includes 10 nights, 2 dances in different costumes, and 3 more outings. That«s 100,000 rubles per night (approximately $1,100 at current rates), consider it a gift from fate, since you»re buying in bulk,» — says Yulia in a video provided by Khubutia.
The plan interested the millionaire, and their meetings continued. Yulia knew that Mikhail had a wife, with whom he did not plan to divorce, and he was aware that he was not the only one the model spent time with. Mikhail showed a video where the girl openly spoke about another suitor and offered to pay her so that all attention would go only to Khubutia.

«She had men appearing very often, and she always told me about it. Why hide it? There are correspondences where I tell her: «Yul, when you arrange your life for the long term, then I»ll think about how to tell the whole truth. I cannot live with my wife in deceit,«» — Khubutia confesses on the »Malahov« show (16+).
Mikhail did not refuse Yulia: rest, shopping — everything she wanted. After some time, the man himself is surprised by his generosity and suspects that black magic might have been involved and he could have been drugged.
«She poured and did not hide it. Her mother was involved with herbs, and in general — Morozovsk (the place where Yulia is from) is considered a place where there is witchcraft, and even from Rostov they go there,» — Mikhail is sure.
«I very much doubt that this is my child»
Whatever methods Yulia used, she could not completely captivate Mikhail. Khubutia continued to hurry home to his wife Eka, with whom he spent his whole life. Together in 2018, they experienced the death of their son and jointly came to the thought that they wanted to try to have another child. Eka suggested surrogacy, but for that, material needed to be collected. Khubutia turned to Yulia for help.
«She was supposed to help me. But it didn«t work out. We parted ways on this, and in January she tells me: »Mish, I«m pregnant.» She did everything not to give the material, but to keep it for herself and get pregnant. I am a believer and a decent person — you deceived me, but I will not abandon you. Now I very much doubt that this is my child. I am convinced that she was simultaneously meeting with different people,» — Mikhail expressed.
The couple had a daughter, Nicole. Mikhail considered that he should take care of the mother of his child, and bought Yulia a house, a car, and a business. He also regularly brought groceries and paid for a nanny for the daughter. According to the millionaire, Yulia could not be called such an attentive parent. After another time when he found out that she did not spend the night at home, they had a conflict.
— The nanny called me the day before and said that madam did not spend the night at home, and she promised the child that she would be home. The child started crying in the morning, doesn«t want to go to kindergarten or anywhere. She has hysterics. I said that I would come and talk, but only in your presence. She knew that I would come, — Mikhail tells about the fateful night.
The millionaire does not deny, he hit Yulia, but that«s all. Mikhail calls the blood and cuts a thought-out plan by Van to discredit him. In confirmation of his words, Khubutia reminds that his daughter did not hear her mother»s screams, although she was in the next room.
«Well yes, I slapped her, but she initiated it, and there are witnesses to this — the nanny, who was made a scapegoat, — admits Mikhail. — This was all carefully prepared. She wouldn«t have had the brains to come up with this alone. She had a team with her boyfriend.»
Mikhail also showed what the axe actually looked like, which he allegedly used to chop Yulia. Such a «weapon» Khubutia carries to collect small chips for a samovar.
«Yes, she is right. I had an axe, two,» — jokingly extended to Malahov instruments smaller than a handle.
About the attack and the video where the mother of his child is bleeding, Mikhail found out only the next morning when he was called for interrogation. Khubutia adds that he wants this story to be left in the past as soon as possible. For him, his wife is now in first place, from whom he begged forgiveness all the months of his arrest.
«It was terrible. I consider it a betrayal, — Eka took the floor. — I was not in Moscow. I flew in, talked with him. I felt very sorry for him, because they worked on him. I am still in a lot of pain, and I think it will be like this for a long time. But such is fate.»
To start a new chapter in their family, at the end of the program Mikhail once again proposed to his wife. She agreed.
