Maternity Capital Increased in Arkhangelsk Oblast: New Payments per Child

In Arkhangelsk Oblast, the amount of maternity capital has been increased. It was indexed by 5.6% from February 1. The regional branch of the Social Fund of Russia (SFR) reported how much money parents will now receive for each child.
The amount of maternity family capital was indexed by 5.6% based on the official inflation rate for the previous year.
Maternity capital for the first child born in the family since 2020 has increased by more than 38,000 rubles and now amounts to 728,921 rubles (approximately $7,300 at current rates). If a second child is born in such a family, the additional payment will be 234,321 rubles (approximately $2,300).
If the family received the certificate for the second child and did not previously have the right to maternity capital, the amount increased by 51,000 rubles and is now 963,243 rubles (approximately $9,600).
«If maternity capital has not been used, the entire amount is indexed. For parents who have already used maternity capital funds, the remaining balance on the certificate in February is also indexed,» said the SFR branch in Arkhangelsk Oblast.
The right to maternity capital is granted to families not only for the second but also for the first child. The certificate is issued without an application, upon the birth of the child, and is sent to the mother«s personal account on the Gosuslugi portal.
In 2025, 4,296 families in Arkhangelsk Oblast and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (NAO) received maternity capital certificates.
Maternity capital funds can be used for improving housing conditions, paying for education, goods and services for children with disabilities, parents« pension savings, or received as a monthly payment for any child up to three years old if the family»s per capita income does not exceed twice the subsistence minimum in the region.
