Infant abandoned in Tyumen finds new family after biological parents leave

Over the past year, 16 children in Tyumen have found new families — this data was shared with 72.RU by the Department of Social Development of the Tyumen Region. Among them are both teenagers and infants abandoned by their biological parents.

«In 2025, 11 boys were adopted and 5 girls were taken into foster care in our city. The youngest child is less than a month old, the oldest is 6 years old,» commented Dmitry Gramotin, head of the department, to 72.RU.

He also clarified that over the past year, 166 residents of our region expressed a desire to take a foster child into their family. Some of them, 12, were denied for objective reasons.

«The main reasons are the presence of a criminal record [among potential foster parents], unsatisfactory housing conditions, and refusal to undergo training for those wishing to take a child into their family for upbringing,» explained Dmitry Gramotin.

Recall that the main reasons why children and adolescents are left without parental care are parents« refusal to take their children from educational, medical, and social organizations. In some cases, it»s all about the deprivation (restriction) of parental rights.
