Fifth Child Born in Zabaikalsky Krai Family Named Agvan

A fifth child has been born to Tuiana«s family in Aga settlement, Zabaikalsky Krai. He was named Agvan, according to the regional official portal on January 24.

Besides the newborn, the woman is raising four other children — Victoria, Zhargal, Adisa, Valeria.

The name Agvan has Kalmyk or Buryat origin (from Tibetan) and means «Lord of the Word, possessing beautiful and rich speech». It is one of the names of the bodhisattva Manjushri, who embodies transcendent wisdom.

The one-time allowance for the birth or adoption of a child, as well as maternity capital, will increase from February 1 after the indexation of benefits and payments by the Russian Social Fund.

The maximum increase in maternity capital awaits parents who have not yet used its funds. For such families, the amount will rise to 729 thousand rubles (approximately $8,100 at current rates).
