Daughter of Astrologer Vasilisa Volodina Laments Famous-Mother Status

Victoria Volodina dreams of no longer being associated with her famous surname
Being the child of a famous person looks from the outside like a ticket to a beautiful, carefree life, but for Victoria Volodina — the daughter of celebrity TV astrologer Vasilisa Volodina — that status long remained a heavy burden. In emotional posts on her social media, she spoke about the serious downsides of her position.
In 25 years, Victoria has accumulated plenty of downsides to life under a famous surname
According to Victoria, the main problem she faces is that all of her «absolutely hideous childhood photos are scattered all over the internet.»
There were so many drawbacks that they did not all fit into a single video
«So every time I meet a new guy and he goes to Google me, I want to burn up with shame,» Victoria said.
The second downside is that everyone knows her where she lives — «every dog, every old lady sitting outside the building entrance.»
«Even though I»m 25 now, I fully support myself, and I live on my own, if my neighbors suddenly don«t like something, they complain about me to my parents,» the young woman says.
What«s more, because of her famous mother, Victoria says she was forever in the shadow of her success. From early childhood, she was seen not as an independent person but exclusively as Vasilisa Volodina»s daughter.
«Every time people come up to me and say, »I know whose daughter you are,« I want to shrink down to the size of a tennis ball,» admits the younger Volodina. «This status imposes some kind of extra obligations on me, it makes me a little bit elevated, even though I»m an ordinary mortal.«
Any personal achievements were subconsciously written off by those around her as connections, money, or her mother«s big name — something that hit her self-esteem hard and got in the way of building her own identity.
«Absolutely all of my achievements in business, in my studies, in sports were dismissed as worthless. And many people say they were simply paid for by my parents. And that without my famous parents, I»m nothing on my own. People said even my exam results were paid for,« Victoria lists.
Another drawback of her status is society«s inflated expectations. The public and her peers often expect celebrity children to behave perfectly, look flawless, and succeed instantly at everything. Victoria admitted that the constant scrutiny and the fear of making a mistake under other people»s watchful eyes generated intense internal tension. Her every step, her choice of clothes or university was judged by those around her through the lens of whether she «measured up» to her star family.
«I can»t do what I want in public, or behave completely freely in society, because any action could reflect on my family«s reputation — or simply show up in the media tomorrow,» the young woman complained.
Finally, as a child, Victoria was openly bullied over what her mother did for a living.
«Even teachers in class would say that astrology is a pseudoscience and that astrologers basically deceive people, right in front of the whole class. As you can imagine, that didn»t help my relationships with my classmates, and sometimes in the middle of a lesson I just had to walk out, slamming the door,« the young woman recalls.
Victoria Volodina describes herself as a former marketer for L«Oréal, Coca-Cola, and Land Rover.
«I create high-performing Reels through strategy and scripts,» she explains.
A while ago she wanted to combine her marketing skills with her mother«s talents — she talked about what kind of Reels astrologers should shoot to attract thousands of new clients, and helped her mother develop her astrological center. But later her interests shifted toward internet marketing, content, and communications.
Today the younger Volodina runs an active personal blog in which she breaks down the marketing techniques of various companies and public figures. Now she is raising topics of psychology, separation, personal boundaries, and the difficulties faced by the children of public people.
«The fan has already switched on,» Vasilisa Volodina commented on her daughter«s posts.
