According to the Tyumen Region Department of Social Development, in 2025, 16 children who were left without parental care found new families in the region.

The head of the department, Dmitry Gramotin, clarified: «In 2025, 11 boys were adopted and 5 girls were taken into care in our city. The youngest child is less than a month old, the oldest is 6 years.»

During the same period, 166 residents of the region expressed a desire to take in a foster child. Dmitry Gramotin explained that 12 candidates were denied: «The main reasons are the presence of a criminal record [among potential foster parents], unsatisfactory housing conditions, and refusal to undergo training for those wishing to take a child into their family for upbringing.»

Specialists note that children most often remain without parental care due to parents refusing to take them back from educational, medical, or social organizations, as well as as a result of deprivation or restriction of parental rights.
