Voronezh athlete fights on in 'Titans. Battle of Seasons'
Voronezh athlete Denis Saratov struggles through an intense physical challenge on «Titans. Battle of Seasons».
On February 1, TNT aired the next stage of the show «Titans. Battle of Seasons» (18+). The fight for the title of absolute titan and a prize of 10 million rubles (approximately $110,000 at current rates) was continued by 99 of the strongest participants from previous seasons. Among them was Voronezh athlete Denis Saratov.
Teams compete in a three-way tug-of-war with a heavy load in the episode.
The challenge of the second episode was conducted in a team format. From the participants of each season, 9 teams were formed; some athletes who ended up in incomplete teams had to undergo a three-way tug-of-war with a load weighing forty kilograms (88 lb), twice.
In the first round, the players from season 3 won, defeating seasons 1 and 2. Three-time world champion in power calisthenics, world record holder in dips with own body weight and with a 32/48 kg kettlebell, Denis Saratov fought in the team from season 1, which ultimately lost to season 2 as well.
As a result, Denis«s team had to undergo the elimination challenge »Endless Jumps«. Saratov, who had pulled the rope twice in the main task, also had to go through additional trials. In the elimination challenge, athletes had to overcome a course of 14 barriers at the sound of a signal. Denis fought until the end and advanced to the next stage.
«We are working at the limit of our strength. Legs, arms give out, fingers unclench,» shared the Voronezh athlete after the trials.
The next episode of the show will air on Sunday, February 8.
