The Avtograd Cultural Center announced the cancellation of the concert by virtuoso guitarist, composer, and arranger Danis Shcherbakov. It was scheduled for Sunday, February 8, at 19:00.

«Those who have already purchased tickets can return them at the cultural center»s box office (8 Yubileynaya Street) or at the point of sale where the ticket was bought,« Avtograd said.

The concert was set to be an exciting event for the city«s music lovers. Danis Shcherbakov is a graduate of the Kazan Conservatory, winner of the VIII international competition-festival »Virtuosos of the Guitar« in St. Petersburg, and a prize-winner in competitions in Russia and Poland. In his program, audiences were expecting both original compositions and virtuoso arrangements in styles such as country, blues, jazz, gypsy swing, as well as famous hits by Michael Jackson, ABBA, and The Beatles.

He performs solo programs, as part of the DanisAcousticBand ensemble, and collaborates with well-known Russian and foreign artists including Gleb Matveychuk, Maxim Leonidov, Alessandro Safina, Anastasia Makeeva, Andrei Kozlovsky, and Yuri Gal«tsev.

In 2013, the musician released his first solo album of original music titled «Down the River». Danis Shcherbakov is a permanent member of the jury for all-Russian and international music competitions, and he also teaches guitar.

In Tolyatti, he was supposed to perform for the first time. The ticket price was 1200 rubles (approximately $12 at current rates). The official announcement did not specify the detailed reason for the cancellation.

«The show, advertised as a »unique acoustic guitar show«, will not take place due to circumstances beyond the control of the organizers and the artist,» the cultural center«s website stated.

Audiences have another event ahead. This is the concert by Leonid Agutin and Anzhelika Varum — scheduled for February 23. People wanted to get the concert cancelled, in part due to high ticket prices. But the most expensive seats, according to data from sales services, have been sold out.
