On August 8, Tyumen will host the second 72 SUP Fest — a large-scale water festival where participants don bright costumes and paddle down the Tura River in a long procession. Participation in our paddle is free — you only need to register at 72supfest.ru, a SUP board, and a good mood.

Last year, 700 people took part in the festival, while thousands of spectators cheered from the shore. The participants were not only residents of Tyumen but also guests from other cities. The chief editor of 72.RU, Elena Poznakhareva, shares more details.

“Last year we held the first SUP festival in Tyumen, and among the participants there were many guests and tourists. SUP enthusiasts came from all over the Urals, as well as from Omsk, Novosibirsk, and Saint Petersburg. Some of them even became winners in the carnival categories. We are glad that our festival not only offers the chance to paddle on the Tura but also shows guests how interesting and beautiful Tyumen is. We look forward to participants from all over Russia,” she invites participants.

So what will happen at the 72 SUP Fest? Of course, participants won«t just paddle down the river and leave. At the finish line, first, we will announce the results of our contests — we will award participants in the best costumes and more. Second, the festival will continue on land. There will be photo zones, food, and various activities for children and adults. So you can come with the whole family.

Bringing your own SUP board is optional — you can rent one in advance from our partners. For 2,000 rubles (about $22 at current rates), a SUP will be delivered to the start, inflated, and you will also receive a paddle and a life jacket. When you reach the finish, the organizers will collect the board and return it to the owners — you won«t have to deal with it on site. Here is a list of reliable partners.
