Tatarstan teen wins $750K Dota 2 tournament

An 18-year-old native of Tatarstan, Alan Gallyamov, won a major Dota 2 tournament in Paris as part of a team. The players of PARIVISION, the team the young man from Aznakayevo plays for, received a prize of $750,000, the team«s press service reported.

Dota 2 is a popular free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena game. Two teams of five players fight on a map: the goal is to destroy the enemy base«s main building while defending your own. Each player controls a unique hero. The game is one of the world»s leading esports disciplines.
Gallyamov was also named the Most Valuable Player of the entire Esports World Cup tournament.
«A year ago we were close to victory but finished third. We worked all year to come back and claim the title, and we succeeded. I am proud of the team, thank you all for your trust and for taking this journey together,» the Tatarstan native shared.
Alan started streaming on the popular platform Twitch at age 13, where he quickly gained popularity. He joined the winning team in January last year. Dota 2 analysts and experts call Alan one of the strongest players in the world in his position right now. He recently entered the Forbes «30 Under 30» ranking. However, he has not lived in Russia since he was 6 years old.
