Svetlakov Dreams of a Dacha on Velikaya River
The actor has discovered a way to achieve zen and ground himself through his dacha dream.
A garden or a vegetable patch — it«s a strange thing, the love for it comes exclusively with age, at different times for everyone. The urge to dig in the garden beds and grow food with one»s own hands has overcome actor Sergei Svetlakov. In a special issue of the digital book Marie Claire, he revealed details about one of the best types of recreation — the concept of «dacha-vita.» As it turns out, his harsh gardening childhood in the Urals did not kill the artist«s desire to dig in the soil, but on the contrary, led to a dream of a quiet corner in an ancient Russian city.
For many of Svetlakov«s peers, tending a vegetable patch in childhood was hard labor, and Sergei was no exception. The actor recalls that the first 15 years of his life were inextricably linked with weekly trips to the plot.
— Every weekend, while all my peers were still dreaming in their beds, my parents and I would head to the plot. At exactly 07:52 (this time is forever tattooed in my memory), we would board the commuter train and ride for an hour, trying not to damage the fragile seedlings and precious young plants in the crowd, — the artist recalls.
Back then, the vegetable garden seemed like an enemy robbing him of all the joys of childhood. But years later, Svetlakov completely revised his views. Now, raspberries and flowers are already growing at the actor«s dacha, but his plans include a real gardening upgrade. The showman is seriously considering installing a modern greenhouse with drip irrigation. The main goal is to grow huge »bull«s heart» tomatoes, which in childhood seemed like something elite.
— If you think about it, it«s a whole mystery: out of nothing suddenly grows a miracle bush and brings amazing fruits! Dacha-vita and slowing down as a lifestyle in summer — I really like this idea, — he says, emphasizing that he now does gardening purely out of love.
If earlier Svetlakov flew to Thailand or Altai for adrenaline, now the silence of Pskov Oblast has won his heart. During the filming of the second season of the series «Kazachok» (16+), the entire team was charmed by the local nature. Now the artist«s main dream is to acquire land there.
— The dream is to have a distant dacha in Pskov, on the Velikaya River, — Sergei admits.
He was impressed not only by the majestic fortresses, but also by the opportunity to simply stand on the riverbank in absolute silence. It seems the Ural comedian has seriously set his mind on slowing down and is ready to exchange the capital«s hustle and bustle for the Pskov expanses and his own garden beds.
