Siberia's 72 SUP FEST: Water Carnival Invites All

In Tyumen on August 8, the second 72 SUP FEST will take place — a large-scale water festival where participants don bright costumes and glide along the Tura River in a long procession. Participation in our paddle is free — all you need is registration on the website 72supfest.ru, a SUP board, and a good mood.

Last year, 700 people took part in the festival, with thousands of spectators cheering from the shore. Participants came not only from Tyumen but also from other cities. Chief editor of 72.RU Elena Poznakharova tells us more.

“Last year we held the first SUP festival in Tyumen, and among the participants were many guests and tourists. SUP enthusiasts came from across the Urals, as well as from Omsk, Novosibirsk, and St. Petersburg. Some of them even became winners in carnival categories. We are glad that our festival not only gives people the chance to paddle along the Tura but also shows guests what an interesting and beautiful city Tyumen is. We welcome participants from all over Russia,” she invites.

What will happen at 72 SUP FEST? Of course, participants won«t just paddle down the river and disperse. At the finish line, we will first announce the results of our contests — we will award participants in the best costumes and more. Second, the festival will continue on land. There will be photo zones, food, and various activities for children and adults. So you can come with the whole family.

“Miss SUP” — we will choose the brightest, most extravagant, most beautiful participant of the festival. A little later we will launch a vote — follow updates;

“Mister SUP” — something new! Yes, we will choose not only Miss but also Mister. We«ll say lots of nice things to him too;

“Best Costume” — become the most creative participant;

“1+1” (pair paddle) — this is also a new category. Grab your loved ones, relatives, friends and make bright costumes, decorate the SUP — and go along the Tura. If you don«t have one, bring a friend, buddy, brother, sister, anyone — as long as there are two of you;

“Best Board Decoration” — this will definitely be a bright category;

“Best Photo” — upload a photo by August 11 to a special album on VKontakte — and that«s it, you are a participant. We will choose the winner after the festival;

“Team Paddle” — more than two people? No problem! Participate together;

“Best Reels” — hey, creators of the coolest video, are you ready? Get your SUP ready, this is also a new category, and we will award the prize after the festival. We need to watch hours of your uploaded reels. To make them easy to find, post them on social networks and use the hashtag #72САПФЕСТ. Deadline — until August 11;

“Me and a Valued Passenger” — bring your pet to the festival. We will definitely mark the best and most interesting ones;

Editor«s Choice. We»ll fight a little over the choice of winner, but we will award the winner right after the festival.

There is also a category established by our partner, the government of the Tyumen region. It is called “Russian Cultural Code”.

You don«t have to bring your own SUP — you can rent a board in advance from our partners. For 2000 rubles ($21 at current rates), the SUP will be delivered to the start, inflated, and you will also receive a paddle and a life jacket.
