Siberian woman stuns 'The Voice' judges; three mentors turn

Yelena Dorodnykh secured a place on Vladimir Presnyakov«s team after her powerful blind audition.

Yelena Dorodnykh, a resident of Novosibirsk, impressed the mentors on the new show «The Voice» on Channel One. At the blind auditions, the Siberian woman sang Christina Aguilera«s song »Fighter« — Vladimir Presnyakov, Anna Asti, and Ildar Abdrazakov turned for her almost immediately.
Anna Asti enthusiastically hugged the contestant following the emotional performance on stage.

«Yes, a fighter!» — assessed Yelena Dorodnykh Pelageya, who remained sitting with her back turned. — «Why didn»t I turn? I think there are at least two people here who know what to do with you better than I do. Despite the fact that I undoubtedly liked it very much, and you are indeed a real fighter.«
The mentors highly praised the Siberian woman«s vocals and showed her support with hugs: the woman was very nervous, although she tried to hide it. Yelena expressed a desire to join Vladimir Presnyakov»s team.
«I have always dreamed of going to one person, and for many seasons in a row, this person was not there,» the participant explained her choice.
Yelena Dorodnykh is 38 years old, she came to the show with her husband and children: the family actively supported her backstage.
«I dreamed of getting here, and I am very happy that I succeeded,» Yelena admitted.
The new, 14th season of the country«s main vocal show started on January 23. Polina Gagarina in the mentor»s chair was replaced by singer Anna Asti, and Vladimir Presnyakov also joined the jury, but viewers did not appreciate the new lineup.
