Residents of Krasnoyarsk noticed a crowd of Grandfather Frosts and Snow Maidens on 22 December at Lyceum No. 28. Readers of NGS24.RU reported this. As eyewitnesses explain, the school organizes this celebration together with the parents of the lyceum students — the people in the costumes are precisely the moms and dads.

«They gathered to create a New Year»s mood for the whole school. They were shouting: «Happy New Year». They arrange this at the school every year, but I don«t know for how many years. It»s a good tradition, of course. It sets a positive mood. It«s just cold today. These are all the parents of the students, later they will go to congratulate the children,» an eyewitness said.

The education department explained what this tradition is:

«In practically every educational institution or kindergarten, a similar tradition exists. It was likely brought about five years ago from some other city. The teachers liked this tradition very much. They picked it up. And now annually in educational institutions, a parade of Grandfather Frosts takes place.

The parents themselves unite, they either rent costumes or sew them in advance themselves. They come up with the scripts themselves. Then they inform the educational institution that they want to organize a parade, they get the green light, and then they dance in circles and congratulate the children,« explains the department»s representative, Ekaterina Lukyanova.
