Family Wins 31-Million-Ruble Lottery Without Guessing Any Numbers
A resident of Perm Krai asked her son to buy a lottery ticket, and he won over 31 million rubles (about $310,000 at current rates). However, Evgeny did not guess a single number. We explain how this is possible and what the winners will spend the money on.
The press service of Stoloto said that Evgeny was born in Perm Krai but moved to Krasnodar Krai. After buying the ticket, the man randomly marked a combination of numbers. According to the lottery rules, one can win the super prize by guessing 12 out of 24 numbers or by not guessing any. Evgeny had the latter case — and the man won over 31.5 million rubles (about $315,000 at current rates).
«After the draw, for the first time, I received an SMS notification from Stoloto about a big win,» the man is quoted as saying by Stoloto. «I opened my personal account to check the result, and there was such a large amount! I immediately sent this news to my mom. She didn»t believe it until the last moment, until I came to her myself, and she saw the winnings on the screen with her own eyes. When it sank in, we together started making plans for the future.«
Evgeny«s mother worked as an electrician at a factory before retirement, and now she cares for a close relative and manages the household. Her son once worked as a cook in a cafeteria and later was the owner of a cafe-bakery. Two years ago, he changed professions and followed in his mother»s footsteps.
The winner«s family has long participated in lotteries: in Soviet times, his grandfather won a refrigerator. Evgeny supports his mother and buys her lottery tickets online, and he bought his lucky ticket through the app. The family considers the winnings shared and plans to spend it on buying an apartment in Krasnodar Krai.
