Educational Psychologist from Sverdlovsk Region Wins 333 Million Rubles
The winner of the «New Year Billion» lottery with a prize of 333 million rubles (about $3.33 million at current rates) is Natalia Lokhmatova, an educational psychologist from a small village in Sverdlovsk Region.
Currently, she is on maternity leave caring for her two-year-old son. For her family, participating in New Year lotteries has become a tradition.
On November 25, Natalia bought several tickets containing eights — a number she considers lucky.
«On the 25th day of the 25th year — on this interesting date — I had a premonition that I would win a large sum! Moreover, I have a green thumb: everything I plant in the ground always sprouts very quickly. I think that on the day I bought the tickets, everything came together: the interesting date, the premonition, and the green thumb!» shared Natalia.
Because she missed the New Year broadcast, Lokhmatova only found out about the win later, by checking her personal account on the «Stoloto» website. The amount she saw at first seemed unreal.
After deducting income tax, she will receive 261.6 million rubles (approximately $2.62 million at current rates). Part of this money the winner intends to allocate to charity, as well as help her mother.
«Life will change radically this year! There are many other plans for the winnings: I want to buy a car, an apartment, secure my son»s future, and help relatives,« said Natalia.
In addition to the Sverdlovsk resident, a resident of Tyumen also won in the same lottery. However, at the time of publication, he had not yet claimed the prize, and nothing is known about him.
